Concerned about your pet’s accommodations before their flight? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with our on-site Brookby Lodge pet boarding facility for pre-flight stays.
We’ll connect you with local vet services to ensure your pet’s Export Certificate is processed on time, required 96 hours before flights to Australia. Plus, we’ll arrange MPI visits 24-48 hours before all other international flights.
Before Your Journey Begins
International pet travel comes with its own set of prerequisites to be met, including:
- All pets must be microchipped before departure.
- For dogs travelling to Australia from New Zealand, owners must sign a declaration confirming their pet was born and bred in New Zealand.
- Dogs travelling to Australia from other countries must get blood tests before travel.
- Cats and dogs travelling to the UK, Ireland and Europe require vaccination for rabies at least 21 days before departure.
- Pets travelling from Asia to Australia need to stay in a pet boarding facility in NZ for 180 days before completing the final leg of their journey. This service is available at Brookby Lodge at a discounted daily rate.
